The week continues

Exercising with "Gold's Gym" the other day didn't hurt my knees, but it made my left arm a little sore.  I'm pretty fierce with my jabs.

In the afternoon I did Dancing with the Stars.  It has trouble recognizing some of the gestures and I can't figure out how to hold the remote and nunchuk to correct that problem, but it still gave me 100% hits on 2 routines.  The things I dislike the most about this game is that they didn't consider the wire between the remote and the nunchuk for some gestures.  One could strangle oneself doing them.

The next day I did Dancing on Broadyway for about 30 minutes.  I like that game - it's more exercise than it looks and it rates most of my movements as Excellent whether they are or not.  (Trust me, they aren't.)

Yesterday I used Gold's Gym again for 30 minutes.  The exercises involved ducking and squats.  I have injured my right knee/hip/leg at least twice in the distant past and it usually hurts anyway - ducking and squatting doesn't improve anything.  And besides I used the board for the squats and it didn't count a single one (and I did them all for 6 minutes).  I used two remotes instead of one remote and a nunchuk and the game had trouble recognizing my punches.

Gold's Gym

Today I tried Gold's Gym - not the dance one, the cardio one.  I boxed for about 45 - 50 minutes.  The last time I tried this game was in 2010 (that's what it said - I didn't know it had been that long ago).  Anyway, when I did it before it made my knees hurt so I couldn't continue using it.  Otherwise I really like it.  I'll have to see tomorrow if I have the same problem with my knees.

Biggest Loser Challenge

I switched to Biggest Loser Challenge last Friday.  I was able to workout for 15 minutes both Friday and Sunday which is twice as long as I did with My Fitness Coach.  I'm not bragging, just saying.  (joke)

I don't like to exercise.  It's boring.  One of the reasons I liked Walk It Out was because you could build the island while "walking".  There were short-term rewards and long term rewards that you could see and achieve.  Biggest Loser Challenge gives me "points" but I don't know what good they are.  And they don't always recognize what I'm doing so the points are lower than they should be which is discouraging.  Or would be if I knew what they were for.

Wii Fitness

I had not used the Wii in several months but started up again in August or September and yesterday I finished another completion of the Wii Walk It Out Rhythm Island.  I was up to walking an hour a day and mostly walked with faster songs (120 BPM or greater).  I thought I was doing fair fitness wise.

HA!

Today I decided to try one of my other games and selected My Fitness Coach which I haven't used in a few years.  I made it through 6 minutes of a 15 minute workout.  It's a lot tougher than I remembered but according to my profile, I weighed about 40 pounds less.

I'm retired now and mostly sit on my duff and do nothing (as opposed to when I was working and mostly sat on my duff and did work stuff).  I can't walk outside very often because there's always something out there that I'm allergic to or can't tolerate.  Like cold weather which triggers asthma so I'm counting on the Wii to get me into better shape this winter.

Of course, the major thing is that it works better when I actually use it.
